Ecoturismo Italia has its roots in the many different activities involved in ecotourism from all over Italy. It addresses  anyone who wants to be part of the Ecotourism World: operators, tourists, students, local administrators, or anyone  who cares about this issue.

Ecoturismo Italia is a non-profit organization with the scope to promote tourism as a tool of sustainable development and, in particular, protection of the environment and promotion of traditional cultures, in Italy and abroad.

Ecoturismo Italia provides a point of reference for all ecotourism tour operators in Italy and a national base for dialogue. Ecoturismo Italia collaborates with other associations involved in ecotourism around the world to create a common network of experience at the international level.

Ecoturismo Italia wants to develop more ecotourism initiatives and a higher quality of Ecotourism itself: A tourism that supports and maintains the sensitive environments and cultures that it visits, in Italy and abroad. Within the last few years,  Ecotourism has helped to protect natural areas and cultures at risk of extinction in many different parts of the world.

•  These days, the whales in our sea (like Minimanus) are much more precious alive than dead
•  Animals and the natural world can regenerate entire regions  – such as the african savannahs

We could do more, of course.
We want the share of ecotourism in Italy and the world to grow bigger every day. Tourism in natural areas can be the leader of ecotourism, a kind of tourism that protects and supports fragile nature and culture in many places of the world. Happily, ecotourism is the segment of the international tourism with the highest annual growth rates in the world!!

 With a growing ecotourism we want to:

• Give to the environment a recognised monetary value;
• Develop a kind of tourism that enhances and protects the nature and culture that it explores, that pollutes much less and minimises its environmental impacts;
• Represent a source of encouragement, give a sense of avantgarde for the entire tourism sector in Italy;
• Stimulate people to travel in ways that are  more enjoyable  for everybody  - both the travellers and those who live and work in tourist areas.

Our association wants to gather anyone who is interested in ecotourism either as an idea, or as a real practice. We can work together to link tourism and conservation , and stimulate social and economic development. We will transform mainstream tourism into something sutainable with positive impacts on the environment and local populations!
