Henry Buggerru Hostel

The hostel building was erected in the second half of the Nineteenth Century as a primary school. In 2011 it was converted into the friendly hostel that you find today -  perfect for unforgettable holidays.

Our Structure has 12 rooms: double rooms with private bathroom and shared bathroom.For lovers of open spaces, you can spend your free time on our terrace.

The territory of Buggerru and Fluminimaggiore gives the opportunity to live different experiences in active tourism and in culture. For lovers of surf, you will find a surf school and a sportive association looking forward to you in the waves; if you prefer the boat and doing diving you will find fishermen doing fishing and tourism and the possibility to do boat-trip and diving in the touristic harbor.

 Concerning trekking and cycle-tourism you would to know that Buggerru and Fluminimaggiore will offer a lot of nature to explore: there is some CAI (Italian Alpine Center) paths, the only ones which offer breath-taking views between the see and the peeks.

For lovers of culture, you will be in a right place: Buggerru is an ancient village of mines, in 1904 in our village we lived a strike became a tragedy. To remember these events there is a museum, with a multimedia hall, and the Galleria Henry, gem of the mineral buildings reconverted in a touristic place. You will travel on the ancient train and you will discover the miners ‘life, although you will come back by foot looking at wonderful views of the sea from the terraces that were the light point in the mine.

Directions from Cagliari to Buggeru:

Airport: 95km

Take the junction for the SS 130, direction Iglesias, and then proceed on the SS 126, direction S. Antioco, go to Nebida on the panoramic SP 83.

By ferry: 95km

From the port exit easily from the city along Viale La Playa just at west of the port and follow the ramp to Iglesias to take the SS 130. From SS 130 follow the indications from the airport (on the left)

By car or motorcycle:

In Sardinia this is the best way to travel: from the airport in the junction take the SS 130 direction Iglesias and then proceed on the SS 126 towards Fluminimaggiore or on the SP 83 towards Nebida.

By bus or train:

For those choose public transport, Cagliari has a train station (Trenitalia), in Piazza Matteotti, which allows you to reach Iglesias, from there take bus to Fluminimaggiore - Buggerru

Looking forward to the next open of the First Eco-Hostel in Sardinia (where the same équipe is going to work), our hostel wants to promote values of sustainable and ecological tourism. We already practice some procedures: like differentiate rubbish  and the involvement of the inhabitants in the promotion of our activity. We really trust in the idea of preserving the environment like a wealth and a value for the future generations.

DA CAGLIARI:

aeroporto:  95km

prendi il bivio per la SS 130 direzione Iglesias e poi si procede sulla SS 126, direzione S.Antioco, prosegui  verso Nebida sulla SP 83, scorrevole e panoramica

in nave:  95km

dal porto si esce in fretta dalla città percorrendo Viale la Playa subito a ovest del porto e si segue lo svincolo per Iglesias che riporta sulla SS 130. Come sopra.

in auto o moto:  

 in Sardegna è il mezzo più comodo, dall'aeroporto si prende il bivio per la SS 130 direzione Iglesias e poi si procede sulla SS 126  via Fluminimaggiore o in direzione Nebida sulla SP 83.

in bus o treno: per chi sceglie il trasporto pubblico, a Cagliari è presente una stazione dei treni (Trenitalia), in piazza Matteotti, che permette di raggiungere Iglesias, da qui  prendete  l’ autobus di linea per Fluminimaggiore - Buggerru.
